The weekend is just around the corner and there cannot be anything better than a comfort meal, especially this Dhaba Style Achari Paneer Recipe!

What is Dhaba Style Achari Paneer Recipe

Dhaba literally means ‘street side restaurants’ in India and extremely famous for their rustic-authentic recipes.

The closest to Paneer in the International market would be chunky cottage cheese.

Achari is a type of Indian pickling mix usually made using 3 main ingredients – Fennel, Nigella Seed, and Fenugreek Seed.

So the recipe is rustic Indian style paneer sauteed in an achari mix. It’s an extremely delicious and soul-satisfying dish.how to make achari paneer masala

How to Make Achari Paneer Recipe :

The reason behind the popularity of any street style restaurant / dhaba food is that the food is freshly prepared as ordered.

And I totally believe that freshly ground spices, ground pastes adds so much more flavor to any dish. Hence I’m breaking this dish into 3 parts:

  1. Making the Onion Paste Mix (base of the sauce)
  2. Making Freshly Ground Achari Masala or Mix:
  3. Sauteeing everything together to form a rich saucy mix with paneer.

Storing Achari Paneer :

This can be stored in an air-tight box (I prefer a glass container to store curry as they don’t stain) and can be in the fridge for 2 days.

Reheating the Paneer:

  • Once you are ready to reheat, just remove from fridge, add 1/4 cup water and mix everything.
  • Set on Microwave for 2 minutes or cook in a stovetop pan for 5 minutes.
